Sick of waiting on a slow computer? An SSD and a memory upgrade can make a tired laptop or PC feel brand new — for a fraction of the cost of replacing it. We migrate all your data, no reinstall. Free assessment, quote before any work.
If any of these sound familiar, an SSD or RAM upgrade is the answer
Real, lasting speed — done right and done safely
Swap a slow spinning drive for a fast SATA or NVMe SSD. Boot times drop from minutes to seconds and everything feels instant.
More memory means smoother multitasking — keep dozens of tabs and apps open without the freezing and slowdowns.
We clone your existing setup to the new drive. Windows, macOS, programs, files and settings all carry over — no reinstall.
Upgrade to a larger drive at the same time so you stop running out of space for photos, video and documents.

When a computer that used to be quick becomes painfully slow, most people assume it's "just old" and start shopping for a replacement. In reality, the bottleneck is almost always one of two parts: the storage drive or the memory. The processor in a five- or six-year-old laptop is still perfectly capable for email, web browsing, office work and video calls — but if that processor is waiting on a mechanical hard drive that reads data at a crawl, the whole machine feels sluggish no matter how powerful it is. Fixing the actual bottleneck is faster, cheaper and far less wasteful than buying new.
The biggest single change you can make is replacing a spinning hard drive with a solid-state drive. A mechanical drive has physical platters and a read head that has to move into position before it can find your data — that mechanical delay is what you feel every time the computer "thinks." An SSD has no moving parts and accesses data electronically, which is dozens of times faster. The result is dramatic: a computer that took two minutes to boot starts in ten or fifteen seconds, programs open the instant you click, and that constant spinning wheel simply disappears.
If your machine still runs a hard drive, the SSD is always the place to start — it's the upgrade everyone immediately notices. The next most common improvement is more RAM. Memory is your computer's short-term workspace: the more you have, the more programs and browser tabs it can juggle at once before it starts swapping data back to the slow disk and grinding to a halt. If you keep a dozen tabs open alongside Word, a video call and your email, adding RAM stops the freezing. Many computers benefit from both upgrades, and we usually do them together in a single visit so your machine comes back transformed. For the wider picture, our computer repair team can also clean up the software side at the same time.
The part people worry about most is losing their files — and there's no need to. We clone your entire existing setup onto the new SSD before swapping it in, so Windows or macOS, all your installed programs, your saved passwords, your wallpaper and every document and photo arrive on the new drive exactly as they were. There's no reinstalling Windows, no re-downloading software, and nothing to set up again. You turn the computer on and it's the same as before, only fast. We always verify a working backup first, so your data is protected throughout. If a drive is already failing, we can often combine the upgrade with remote support to rescue files before they're lost.
Not every machine is a good candidate, and we'll always be straight with you. Some recent ultrabooks have the RAM soldered to the board, so only the SSD can be changed; others let us upgrade both. A very old computer with a failing screen or hinge might be better replaced. After a free assessment — or a quick call where you tell us the model — we'll tell you exactly what your computer supports and whether the upgrade is worth it. Households and small offices that want to keep their fleet running smoothly often roll upgrades into our managed IT services, and you can always reach us through the contact page with your model number for fast advice.
