How It Works

Simple as a phone call. You stay in control every step of the way.

1You call us (or text)

A real friendly Canadian technician picks up — usually in under a minute. English or French.

2We send a simple link

By text or email. One link. Click it. A small safe app called AnyDesk opens — think of it as a video call for your computer.

3Give a one-time code

The app shows a 9-digit code. You read it to us. That gives us permission to connect for THIS session only.

4Watch us fix it

You see your screen the whole time. We talk through every step. Stop us anytime with one click.

5Simple summary

After we're done, you (and optionally an adult child) get a plain-English summary by email.

AnyDesk uses 256-bit TLS encryption — same as Canadian banks. You see every action. Disconnect anytime.

Common Questions

My parent isn't comfortable with technology — can you still help?
Yes. Most of our seniors said the same thing on day one. We move slowly, repeat as needed, and never make anyone feel dumb. Adult children can also book the session and stay on the line.
Bilingual support?
Yes — every technician speaks English and French. Switch anytime during the call.
What if my parent can't follow instructions?
We adjust pace. If they're truly unable to navigate themselves, we work over the phone first and you (adult child) can be the bridge. Many families do this happily.
Can my adult child sit in on the session?
Absolutely — via phone speaker or as a third party. We can also email a session summary to them after.
Is remote access safe for a senior?
Yes — AnyDesk uses 256-bit TLS encryption (bank-level). The senior gives a one-time code per session, watches every action, and can disconnect with one click. We never see passwords.
What hours can I call?
7 days a week, 9am to 9pm Eastern Time.
How much does it cost?
Single session: $59 CAD flat. Or our Peace of Mind monthly plan from $9.99/month — unlimited remote help, monthly check-ups, scam protection coaching.
Is the monthly plan worth it for a senior?
If you call us 2+ times a year, yes. It also gives priority response, scheduled monthly checkup calls, and family member coverage.
What if my parent thinks remote help is a scam?
Smart instinct — never give random callers access. But IT Cares is the only one who calls back on the number we gave you. Verify by calling 1 (888) 711-9428 directly first if uncomfortable.
Refund if you can't fix it?
Full refund. No fine print.
Can you send a paper receipt?
Yes — printable PDF emailed after each session. We can also mail a paper copy on request.
Will you speak slowly with my parent?
Yes. We match the pace of whoever we're helping. It's the whole point.
