Samsung 990 Pro, WD Black SN850X, Crucial T700, SK Hynix P41 — when your SSD disappears or data vanishes, IT Cares recovers it. Firmware rescue, controller bypass, chip-level NAND extraction. No-data-no-pay guarantee.
IT Cares recovers data from all SSD types in Montreal — SATA 2.5″, NVMe M.2 (PCIe Gen 3/4/5), external SSDs, and enterprise drives. SSD diagnostic is $49. Logical recovery is $349, firmware/controller recovery is $799, chip-level NAND extraction is $1,499. No-data-no-pay guarantee. Samsung 990, WD Black, Crucial, Kingston, SK Hynix all supported. Unlike HDDs, an SSD may appear to work fine until it suddenly stops responding entirely. If your SSD shows 0 bytes, enters a locked state, or disappears from BIOS after a firmware update or power outage — power off the system and call us before any further boot attempts. Repeated access attempts on a failing SSD controller can brick the drive permanently.
Solid-state drives fail differently — require different tools and approaches
Hard drives fail mechanically — read heads crash, motors seize, PCBs burn. SSDs fail electronically and at the firmware level. The NAND flash chips themselves are extremely reliable, but the controller firmware, wear-leveling tables, and translation layer (FTL) are fragile. A power outage during a write, a failed firmware update, or simply a controller chip that overheats can render an SSD completely undetectable — even though all your data is physically intact on the NAND chips.
IT Cares uses specialized SSD recovery tools that communicate directly with the NAND flash at the chip level, bypassing the failed controller entirely. For firmware-locked drives (the most common SSD failure), we access the drive through JTAG or UART debug interfaces to reset the firmware state and extract the mapping tables needed to reconstruct your data. For drives where the controller chip itself has failed, we perform direct chip reading using donor-chip extraction.

Every type of SSD failure we handle
Fixed quotes, no surprises. No-data-no-pay at every tier.
| Tier | Price (CAD) | SSD Scenario | Timeline |
|---|---|---|---|
| Diagnostic | $49 | Complete SSD assessment, failure classification, firm quote | 24–48h |
| Logical Recovery | $349 | Deleted files, accidental format, corrupted partition — SSD detected by OS | 24–72h |
| Firmware / Controller MOST COMMON | $799 | 0 bytes / not detected, firmware-locked, failed update, power-loss corruption | 3–10 days |
| Chip-Level (NAND) | $1,499 | Controller chip physically dead, NAND chip reading, soldering required | 10–21 days |
No-data-no-pay: if we recover nothing, you pay only the $49 diagnostic.
Professional-grade SSD recovery software and JTAG/UART adapters for direct firmware access — tools used by data recovery labs worldwide.
If we cannot recover your files, you pay only the $49 diagnostic. We verify recovered files with you before charging the recovery fee.
Logical SSD recovery typically 24–48h. Firmware recovery 3–7 days. Express <24h for $99.99 when urgency is critical.
